Adjusting the depth on the fixed base router

Adjusting the depth of cut on the PM-6200/PM-6210 or PM-6250 Fixed base router combination utilizes the time-tested threaded base design. See the steps below for how to adjust your depth of cut accurately.

  1. Disconnect the tool from the power source.
  2. Loosen the clamp knob securing the motor to the base.
  3. Holding the base secure, rotate the motor counterclockwise until the bit is above the bottom surface of the base.
  4. Set the router on a flat surface. A wood or similar surface is preferred because it will not damage the router bit.
  5. Turn the motor clockwise until the bit touches the wood surface.
  6. Tighten the clamp knob to secure the motor.
  7. Rotate the micro-adjust ring until the "zero" line is lined up with the index line on the motor housing.
  8. Loosen the clamp knob.
  9. Tilt the router to lift the bit clear of the surface, then turn the motor clockwise until the index line is lined up with the required depth on the micro-adjust ring.
  10. Tighten the clamp knob completely.
